Grant to Pacific Lodge Boy's Home

On Wednesday, August 25, the Woodland Hills Rotary Club presented the Pacific Lodge Boy's Home with a check for $9,200. The check was presented to President and CEO, Lisa Alegria, of the Lodge. It will be used for beds, a dining table, chairs and desks for one of the cottages the houses up to 17 boys. The funds were made possible from a Rotary District grant.

The Woodland Hills Rotary Club is dedicated to helping the lodge "Build Productive Lives" in boys 13 through 18 years of age. Members of the club meet with the boys in Sauble Cottage once a month for a pizza dinner. Members mentor the boys and help them with their school work. The result of this effort is that the boys can earn their GED or even graduate from high school.

Members also meet with six to eight boys who have been exceptional in their behavior and cook dinner together and then sit down as a family to enjoy the meal. Some of the boys have never had this experience before.

If you would like more information about  either the Rotary Club of Woodland Hills or the Pacific Lodge Boy's Home, please contact the club at 818-754-4743.
